Engineering Girl: June 2008

I have to say, I think my 20th birthday was the BEST one. It was the best one because I got to spend it with my very good old friends that I have not seen for almost 9 years ! That's almost half of our life~ It didn't have to be fancy, with lots of flowers or money spent, just a couple of good friends and with the right atmosphere, that made my night =D and I am sure it made their nights too. These good friends, two of which are girls, birthday girls too~ Since our birthdays were very close together, we decided to celebrate it on one same day. Just like the old days, in elementary school, we would always hang out together hehe. When I left Taiwan, that was half way through grade six, these two girls were my partners in crime~ we roll together. I miss those days =( well I got to say this day June 03, 2008 made my wishes come true, I didn't need to make a birthday wish because it already came true right then and there.

People worth mentioning: These two boys that were also old classmates that used to make fun of me all the time, hehe boys, and I used to hate them XD but now we all grew up to be better people. They called me and asked if they could celebrate the birthday with us, well OF COURSE! I wasn't gonna reject them, the more the merrier~ They came and sang birthday song for us, and drove us home =) Thank you. Also, there were these strangers that walked past the cafe we were cutting the cake at, but we didn't have a lighter to light the candles T_T and obviously we don't smoke (we like to be strong and healthy) and the cafe owner didn't have a lighter (non-smoking environment) so I looked outside and made eye contact with one of the guys... HAHA! He seemed to understand me, he mouthed me some words but I didn't understand him at first, so instead of mouthing words, I made hand sign of a lighter and pointed to my candle. It looked like there was a light bulb right above his head or something, he understood and searched his body for a lighter, then asked his group of friends for one, and walked into the restaurant right after. Was I ever glad they walked by! They sang happy birthday for us in Chinese and then again in English. I have to say, Taiwanese are nice people, I didn't know until that day. Last but not the least, the cafe owner; there was no other customers when we walked in with our cake, normally cafes do not allow outside food right? well, he let us enjoy our cake and made lots of noises and even became out photographer =D he was so nice!

I am so glad I made a decision to go back to Taiwan just like that. At first, I didn't want to go back to Taiwan because I would have to use my own money to pay for the airplane ticket (like always) but then I WANTED to go back because I miss everyone (friends, family, relatives, everything good about Taiwan) ... so I would always keep myself updated with the flight prices, until one day... the flight only cost $999 CAD! I jumped at the chance and bought the ticket =D
